The 2012 Ontario Summerschool on High Performance Computing, whose second installment of this year was hosted by SciNet, provided attendees with opportunities to learn and share knowledge and experience in high performance and technical computing (the first installment was in London, ON, the third will be in Ottawa). The format was a four-day workshop with mixed lectures and hands-on sessions on a number of selected subjects, including shared memory programming, distributed memory programming and general purpose graphics processing unit programming. The graphics cards and distributed memory sessions were given in parallel.
Students who attended the majority of the sessions were awarded an "Ontario Summerschool on HPC Certificate".
