The 2013 Ontario Summer School on High Performance Computing, whose first installment of the year was hosted by SciNet, provided attendees with opportunities to learn and share knowledge and experience in high performance and technical computing. The format was a four-day workshop with mixed lectures and hands-on sessions on a number of selected subjects, including shared memory programming, distributed memory programming and general purpose graphics processing unit programming. The graphics cards and distributed memory sessions were given in parallel.
Students who attended the majority of the sessions were awarded an "Ontario Summerschool on HPC Certificate". Of the 52 participants, 30 were award a certificate.
